SAVOIR – FAIRE ISSUE: This sixteenth issue of Mia Le Journal is centred around the “savoir-faire” theme. SAVOIR-FAIRE is a French term which, despite literally translating as “know- how”, doesn’t refer solely to a set of technical or practical skills, but also to a mental attitude that allows you to effectively and professionally achieve your goals. It’s the art of doing things right, at the right time and with the right people. In an ever-changing world, savoir-faire has become increasingly important. It is a theme that concerns the world of art and creativity. Artists are often forced to rein in their artistic flair, in order to conform to public or client expectations. This is something I’ve always striven to avoid. The Mia Le Journal magazine was established with the founding principle that freedom of expression shall not be silenced, because each and every artist possesses a savoir-faire capable of leading to unique and personal works of art. And I’m not just talking about individual skills, but also culture and values.
